WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT ?
GINKGO proposes to develop, test and integrate a tailor-made training programme and a practical guide facilitating access to artistic, cultural and sporting experiences, as well as audiovisual and digital media giving a voice to older people. The GINKGO methodology is based on the exchange and transfer of transnational and cross-sectoral knowledge and skills, placing older people at the centre of our work.
THE OBJECTIVES
- To prevent the isolation of older people who are the furthest removed from community life by re-engaging them in socialisation.
- Promote the values of intergenerational solidarity, social inclusion and intercultural dialogue in the training offered to (future) social work professionals.
- Encourage participation and active citizenship through access to artistic, cultural and sporting experiences among older people experiencing social isolation in their local area, taking into account their individual circumstances.
- To promote a dynamic network and partnership of players in the areas concerned, by combining the skills of different sectors such as education, socio-cultural activities and the arts and sports sector.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- A modular training programme of 6 to 8 modules for learners.
- A practical, operational guide for professionals, family carers and volunteers.
- A video documentary of elderly people and professionals, as well as a book of illustrated digital testimonials.
Through its objectives and results, the project aims to promote inclusion and diversity in education and training by trying to re-engage the most isolated older people in socialisation. The project brings together players from the fields of training, education, entertainment and culture, and will undoubtedly be enriched by your experience and your work with senior citizens.
